This comes from a series of commemorative ukuleles by the Alvarez Guitar company. It is one of five, all Concert size. The action is very good, intonation also good, it is a nice little instrument.

I bought the series-of-five, as a lifetime “Deadhead”, and to satisfy my U.A.S. affliction. This is my favorite of the bunch. Was surprised to learn how well it played! Feels good in the hands and sounds great.

The detail is very good, overall looks fantastic. As a commemorative, it’s perfect, as an instrument it is VERY good. Far surpasses what my expectation had been when I first ordered,

One of the things that surprised me most, was how well it holds tune. I didn’t have to go through the two-week break-in period for the strings to stretch and settle. Tuned well out of the box, and holds tune beautifully.

I keep one of these in the trunk of my car, in a padded gig bag, just in case I run into a uke-friend (or an open mic event) and need a quick, simple instrument to bang on.
